change the wallpaper and lock screen from time to time, but that’s certainly not enough.. definitely not enough for Android users! Today we are going to see how we can easily use themes on an Android device and transform it from its old and mundane stock looks to a new and exciting one.
Themer for Android
Themer is a launcher app for Android that can bring a difference to your smartphone. You could compare it to Rainmeter for Windows in both looks and customizability. After you have downloaded the app, all you need to do is select a theme and click on the Apply button. You can browse the themes and download any of them directly in the app. Currently all the themes are free to download and use. Every theme in the list looked amazing and the only problem you might face here is choosing one over the other. When you press the home button for the first time after installing the app, you will be asked to choose a default launcher. Tap on Themer and select the Set as Default option (you can later clear it from the settings). When you first use a theme from the app, each time you tap on an action such as open an email or message, you will be asked to choose a default app. For example, the messaging app will ask you to choose form the default messaging app or WhatsApp. Themer will save the app preferences for the themes you apply in the future. Each theme comes with matching widgets and wallpapers. These widgets and wallpapers can be manually adjusted but the chances are you might spoil the look. Once the theme is downloaded to your device, it can be toggled from the My Theme section. While downloading the theme, no information is provided about the size of the download and thus it’s advisable to use a Wi-Fi connection. You can control advanced theme settings like app drawer transparency, notification drawer, icon and dock settings from the Themer Advanced Settings menu. Their might be times when the theme shows some apps that are not installed on your device. These are just recommendations and you can go ahead and install them from the Play Store.
Conclusion
Currently the app is in beta state but I never felt like it during my tests. This seems to be much better than most of the fancy launchers out there. The app is currently not available for tablets and right now there is no news about it being available in the future. It is light on system resources, but still I would recommend at least a dual-core processor with a gig of memory for smoother performance. So go ahead and try out Themer on your Android today. I am sure you will fall in love with your smartphone all over again. The above article may contain affiliate links which help support Guiding Tech.
